About Me

Hi! I'm Claire, I'm from a small country town outside of Melbourne, Australia. and I'd love to share with you one of my great passions, which is cooking! I've grown up loving to cook and bake (and eat!) and I remember receiving my first ever cookbook for Christmas when I was very young. That book (Family Cirlce's The Best of Kids Cooking)  got a lot of use, especially the recipe for the Chocolate Fudge Cake, and is still sitting on my shelf at home (although in a very 'well loved' condition)
Here is one of my shelves where I store some of my cook books.
And one I have on display on my cookbook stand.
I also love browsing through cookbooks to find interesting sounding recipes, and have a huge pile of recipes that I want to try! Some of my favourite recipes are for the Southern style of foods that you see in American cookbooks, like Red Velvet Cupcakes, Key Lime Pie and anything with pumpkin in it! I do prefer to bake sweet things and am often requested by family members to cook for birthdays and other events. I've introduced my family to many different foods that they've been reluctant to try (like Pumpkin Pie) and probably wouldn't have if I didn't (force) encourage them to.

The aim of this blog is to share my cooking experiences and the great (and sometimes not so great) recipes that I find and cook. As you might be able to tell from the blog title (What would Martha do?) one of my favourite cooks is Martha Stewart and I love trying her recipes. So you'll be seeing quite a lot of her recipes on here. I'd still like to try recipes by other cooks, and I will write about those experiences too, as well as my experiences cooking from my family and friend's recipes.

I would love to have feedback or comments, so please feel free to contact me or comment as you wish. Thanks for reading! xo Claire
